EDDIE Pepperell is relishing a return to one of his favourite events of the year today.
The 28-year-old golfer, from Abingdon, is part of a star-studded field for the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
A share of sixth place in 2013 helped launch Pepperell’s career and having such a big tournament effectively on his doorstep makes it a highlight.
He said: “This is the biggest event on tour and it’s an hour away from home, so to be an English player at that event is special.
“If I had to choose four events I could play for the rest of my life it would be the PGA at Wentworth, the Open, the Masters and the Players’ Championship.
“They are the stand-out events I have played in.
“The field is great and I’ve just got the feeling it will be the best at the PGA ever.”
Pepperell is in a group with Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Wallace which gets under way at 9.05am.
