BEN Goodall won gold at the English Tumbling Championships in Sheffield.
The Harwell gymnast produced a superb display to beat several more experience rivals.
Competing in the 17-21 age group, Goodall landed an impressive twisting transition to lead after the first round.
Although there was a small error in his second run, he qualified for the final in fourth place.
Saving his best performance until last, Goodall delivered a near-perfect twisting transition in the middle of the track to a triple-twisting double somersault to move into first place with the highest score of the day and his season to date.
His victory was the perfect preparation for the British Championships later this month, where he is hoping to do enough to secure a place in the Great Britain squad for the World Age Group Championships in Tokyo, in December.
Goodall has to fund all domestic and international competition himself and is looking for sponsors.
