JULIAN Chambers scored his 7,000th OCA League run as he helped Marsh Gibbon to their second successive Division 1 victory to keep alive their outside hopes of avoiding relegation.
The hosts set 166-7 against Middleton Cheney as Joe Leonard hit 35 and Chambers bringing up his personal milestone with 34 not out.
Des Smith struck 57 for the away side, but they were dismissed for 134 as Tom Leonard, Nathan Callow and Sat Vadivale took three wickets apiece.
Witney Swifts hammered struggling Faringdon by nine wickets as their charge to the title continued.
Charlie Fisher was the pick of the attack with 3-5 as Faringdon were skittled for 65, before Chris Asque scored 44 not out to steer Swifts to 66-1.
Westcott kept their outside hopes alive with a 41-run win over visitors Wolvercote.
They had been bowled out for 156, Brian George taking 5-32 and Alimar Khan top-scoring with 65.
Mark Strong then claimed 3-21 as Wolvercote were dismissed for 115.
Oxenford saw off hosts Garsington & Cowley by three wickets.
After dismissing Garsington for 136, Oxenford reached 137-7 as Roshan Gedara top-scored with 46.
Chipping Norton were far too strong for hosts Stonesfield in a 140-run victory.
Ben Tew’s 75 helped Chippy to 257-6 and then Darren De Bruyn took 6-37 to dismiss Stonesfield for only 117.
East & West Hendred took over at the top of Division 2 as they saw off Tetsworth by 18 runs.
Andy Francis (74) helped Hendred to 242-6 in their 45 overs, before Doug Hilliam claimed 4-42 as Tetsworth fell just short on 224, Nayan Patel top-scoring with 71.
Wootton & Boars Hill lost by five runs at Watlington to be knocked off top spot.
Billy Webb’s 5-40 helped to dismiss the hosts for 148, but Ed Howlett (4-20) then shone for Watlington as Wootton were dismissed for 143.
Cairns Fudge boosted their promotion hopes with a three-wicket win over visitors Clifton Hampden.
Jamie Clark took 4-34 as Clifton were bowled out for 126, and then Dale Beckley (45) and Tom Small (33no) led Fudge home at 128-7.
Stanton Harcourt were shot out for just 52 as they lost by 105 runs at home to Kilkenny.
Earlier, Kilkenny had posted 157 all out, before Bryan Barrett (5-33) and Darren Gordon (4-15) ran through the hosts’ order.
Hanborough defeated west Oxfordshire rivals Bampton by two wickets.
They restricted the visitors to only 128-8 in their 45 overs as Tom Weedon took 4-16.
Hanborough lost regular wickets in their reply, but edged home at 130-8.
Fifteen-year-old Ethan Davie starred with both bat and ball, but could not inspire his side to victory as Marcham and Kidlington were involved in an enthralling tie in Division 3.
Kidlington were dismantled by the
teenager, who took 6-39, as they fell to 170 all out.
Davie then hit 72 in Marcham’s reply, but they finished with the scores level on 170-9 for a share of the points.
Hook Norton are now almost 100 points ahead of their nearest title rivals Risinghurst following a six-wicket win at Combe.
Tom Dingwall’s unbeaten 76 was the only major contribution in Combe’s 146 all out, before Jordan Glazier (63no) and James Ingham (50) helped Hooky to 151-4.
Risinghurst remain second after a 107-run win at Broughton & North Newington.
Rakesh Nambiar’s 93 helped Risinghurst to 184 all out before Broughton were shot out for just 77 in reply.
Elsewhere, Radley saw off Brill by 26 runs, while Wantage defeated Dorchester by 17 runs.
Steventon’s march to the Division 4 title continued with a crushing 115-run win over visitors West Ilsley.
They posted 210-8, before Philip Armstrong took 5-12 and Joe Bennett 4-46 as Ilsley were bowled out for 95.
Oxenford 2nd amassed a massive 325-3
to set up a dominant 165-run victory over Shrivenham.
Andrew Dean (93), Russell Ewings (81no) and Divyansh Gulati (78) shone in Oxenford’s innings and, in reply, Shrivenham crawled to 160-8.
Phil McConville’s 5-18 helped Chadlington to a seven-wicket win at Deddington.
Zawali Ahmadzai claimed 5-37 as Garsington & Cowley 2nd eased past hosts Witney Swifts 2nd by seven wickets.
Division 5 leaders Tetsworth 2nd maintained their 100 per cent record as they hammered East & West Hendred 2nd by 130 runs.
Aaron Huish top-scored with 75 in the hosts’ 239-9, before Sunil Gil claimed 3-25 in Hendred’s 109 all out for their ninth win.
A haul of 5-34 from Andrew Claydon helped Sunningwell to a 32-run victory at Letcombe, while Marcus Hall claimed 5-18 in Freeland’s 101-run victory at Risinghurst 2nd.
In Division 6, Graham White smashed 118 to steer Chesterton to a 254-run win over visitors Dorchester 2nd.
Chesterton racked up 315-5, which was way beyond Dorchester, who crashed to 61 all out as Dan Taylor took 4-16.
A fine haul of 4-34 from Joshua Wingfield Digby helped Swinbrook to a one-wicket win at Hook Norton 2nd.
In Division 7 North, Witney Swifts 3rd eased past Kidlington 3rd by 115 runs.
Chris Hodgson (73) and Anthony Harris (58) helped Swifts to 232-9, before Ben Readhead claimed 4-25 as Kidlington were held to 117-9.
Venki Balaji took 6-8 in six overs to help Faringdon 2nd to a 99-run win at Bampton 2nd in Division 7 South.
Faringdon posted 192-8, Matthew Hunt hitting 55 not out.
Balaji’s haul then saw Bampton fall to 93 all out.
