ABINGDON AC held their own against some of the best teams in the country at the ERRA National Road Relays in Sutton Park, Birmingham.

The club’s senior women finished 35th out of 68 entrants, with the under 17s coming 32nd in their race.

Despite missing a couple of their runners from the regionals, Abingdon’s senior men were 65th out of 76.

Former White Horse Harrier Jonathan Cornish, who still represents Oxfordshire, was seventh in the Oxford Half.

The Hercules Wimbledon runner, from East Hanney, finished in 1hr 11mins 8secs.
