WALLINGFORD suffered a fourth straight defeat when losing 31-8 at local rivals Bicester in Southern Counties North.
Charlie Bethell steamed over on 21 minutes to give the north Oxfordshire side the lead. Tom Miles added the extras to make it 7-0.
Just before half-time. Bicester’s Will Anns and a Wallingford replacement were sin-binned.
Dan Spencer was also yellow-carded for the hosts, with Phil Dawes slotting over the resulting penalty for the visitors.
Wallingford survived some Bicester pressure at the start of the second half, before a Miles penalty extended the home side’s advantage.
Francois Weise then streaked over and the hosts kept the hammer down, with Tevita Naleca and Jack Horwood crossing. Miles converted all three tries.
With the match already won, Wallingford grabbed a late consolation through Ben Selwood.
In South West 1 East, Grove were beaten 16-5 by Newbury Blues.
Harwell returned to winning ways in the BB&O Championship, with a 24-14 home victory over in-form Berkshire Shire Hall.
The hosts led 19-0 at half time, thanks to tries from Lewis Giddings (2) and Kevin Wood. Ollie Wiggs kicked two conversions.
Berkshire hit back with a converted try, but Lewis Giddings’ third score secured Harwell’s bonus point.
A late converted try for Shire Hall closed the margin, but Harwell held on for victory.
In the Premier, Didcot beat Abingdon 12-6.
