ABINGDON AC’s Paul Fernandez and Mark Lewy both finished in the top three of their respective age groups after the final race of the Motavation Series in Oxford.

Vet 40 runner Fernandez finished a close second behind series winner James Bolton, of Woodstock Harriers, after crossing third overall.

Lewy finished as the third Vet 50, crossing the finish line in Oxford in 49th place.

Owen Stepney came home in 11th, while Julia James was Abingdon’s first lady home in 109th.

Meanwhile, White Horse Harriers duo Paul Jegou (V40) and Simon Leech (V50) were 14th and 72nd.

AFTER winning the Western Division Veterans League, Abingdon AC travelled to Ashford for the Southern Counties League.

The men’s team finished fourth, while the ladies came seventh.

MARTIN Ineson won the Earth Trust 10k around Wittenham Clumps.

The Abingdon athlete finished in 39mins 17secs, while clubmate Sarah Lackman was ninth and second female home.

Mark Lawe, of White Horse Harriers was 11th.
