Wallingford's juniors picked up a gold and five other top-three finishes when competing in the Pangbourne Junior Sculls over a 2,750-metre course at the weekend.
The club dominated Division 1 of the boy’s J16 coxless fours, filling the first two positions.
Their winning crew of Henry Edwards, Mateo Lewis, Alex Lyons and Arthur Arnould finished just 0.23secs ahead of runners-up George Skilling, Will Mangion, David Willcox and Tim Waller.
The Walker sisters, Lucy and Alice, teamed up in the women’s schools double scull and came in second.
In Division 2, Wallingford’s the three girls’ J15 coxed quads came in second, fifth and seventh. The runners-up were Jessica Polkey, Morgan Sims, Ella Halsall, Poppy Dawe and cox Billy Lines.
The seventh-placed crew included Freya Goddard, Honor James and Alice Meads, who were in their debut race.
Wallingford’s WJ18 single scullers, Alice Walker and Katie Metalli, were second and fifth respectively.
And the J16 single scullers of Alex Lyons and Tim Waller were awarded silver and bronze medals respectively with just 0.22 secs separating them.
