Sir, I was astounded by the article in last week's Herald reporting on Didcot's need for more leisure facilities.
Not astounded that Didcot needs these facilities - it definitely does - but astounded by councillor John Flood's audacity to position himself as someone in favour of this recommendation.
As leader of the town council, Mr Flood earlier this year refused to fund the valuable facilities already provided by Willowcroft Leisure Centre, forcing it to cut its opening hours and curtail the great benefits it offers to the people of Didcot.
Does Mr Flood think our memories are really that short? Didcot should be making the most of its current facilities, as well as seeking to expand them to meet the needs of its growing population.
