This is a reader's letter sent to the Oxford Mail in reponse to a previous submission by John Mason.

Mr Mason's letter said he had been fined for "failing to pay for parking at Oxford Parkway".

"I am willing to pay for the parking, and was so at the time, but was unable to do so," Mr Mason's letter said.

In response, this reader's letter which did not have an address or name supplied, said:

John Mason should have done some internet research on parking fines at the Parkway station.

As it is railway land, different rules apply.

A scary looking penalty charge notice can be appealed and overturned very easily, if you do your research first and learn how to correctly respond to it.
