I fully support people saying active travel schemes are a farce.

This is very true - it may have started out with good intentions but a farce is what it has most certainly turned into.

There is a saying that you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.

The same applies to active travel – all very well spending so much money on it, but if people just are not interested in taking up cycling or walking, yet more and more cycle lanes get installed, then yes, it becomes a farce.

It is pretty obvious that there is not going to be a cycling revolution so why carry on flogging this dead horse at massive taxpayers costs.
