An Oxfordshire town's Christmas market, visits from Santa's sleigh, and a Santa fun run have been confirmed to return this year.

Wallingford's Christmas event day will take place next Sunday, December 1 this year, and feature a festive market, a "Santa dash" fun run, and will be followed by the itinerary announcement of a charity Santa's sleigh visit.

An update from the deputy mayor of Wallingford Town Council Steve Holder said he was excited to share some updates and confirm the event was going ahead.

He said: "This is shaping up to be a wonderful event to bring the community together, and we're looking forward to seeing you there.

"Your support means everything in making events like this successful for Wallingford."

The town's Christmas market will feature five hot food vendors, three sweet traders and seven craft food stalls.

There will also be 14 craft stalls with handmade gifts, three charity stalls and a face painter.

The festive fun run will also finish at the market where entertainment will include live music and festive donkey visits.

The Santa dash is a 3km jog, walk or run for Father Christmas lookalikes to get involved in, now in its eighth year. The race starts at 11.30am and has a small fee for entry.

The Wallingford 1155 charity will be out for 19 nights over December in the town with Santa's sleigh and Rudolph. Supporters can donate to Rudolph's fuel at this website
