A driver who was allegedly without insurance has been caught and reported by Thames Valley Police.

The driver was pulled over in Longcot, near Faringdon, in the south west of Oxfordshire, police said in a statement issued on Friday night (November 22).

The police's rural taskforce was out on patrol focusing on hare coursing hot spots in the Faringdon area last night when they caught the driver.

Hare coursing involves chasing hares using dogs and often includes gambling. It has been illegal since 2004 but still occurs in rural areas.

Police Sergeant Fogg and Police Constable Wheeler were on the patrol and reported the driver for no insurance.

The Rural Crime Taskforce posted about the catch shortly after 10pm yesterday.
