A spectacular covered ice rink is one of the new attractions at this year's Christmas extravaganza which has just opened at Blenheim Palace.

For the first time experienced skaters or a first-timers can glide across the ice against the iconic backdrop of the palace at The Great Skate set in the Great Court.

Inside the Palace is the world of Neverland, based on JM Barrie’s Peter Pan, and created with the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

Outdoors, the Illuminated Trail features a series of brand-new light artworks.

The magical, after-dark trail will lead visitors through the gardens, filled with glowing baubles, colourful trees and featuring over a million twinkling lights.

Matthew Findlay, head of UK Trails for Sony Music, said: “We are thrilled to bring back Christmas at Blenheim for 2024 with incredible new artistic innovations.

"Last year’s feedback was fantastic, but we’re committed to making this year’s trail the ultimate seasonal experience for all the family.”

Meanwhile the traditional Christmas Market, with wooden chalets offering artisan gifts, festive treats, and seasonal food and drink, opened on Friday (November 15) and runs until December 22.
