An afternoon of repairing, repurposing and upcycling took place last weekend as people were able to bring in their possessions to be fixed.

The Didcot Repair Cafe is run by Sustainable Didcot at the ‘green hub’, the community action group’s headquarters off Lydalls Road.

It saw members of the public drop off their damaged goods to be mended by expert repairers free of charge.

Didcot Repair Cafe (Image: Ed Nix) Helpers used sewing machines and screwdrivers to repair bicycles, electricals, computers, clothes, toys, and jewellery.

Before the event, organisers publicly stated: “As usual, we're willing to take a look at anything you can bring in.

"Electrical, mechanical, sewing, jewellery, clocks, and there's tea and cake whilst you wait.”

The group is running a wreath making workshop on Wednesday, November 27 from 7.30pm to 9pm.
