Oxfordshire police are warning residents after an increase in thefts in a number of towns and villages.
Police reported that a number of power tools and alcohol were stolen in the Hungerford area while power tools, chippers, and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) were stolen from Wantage, Faringdon, and Clanfield.
In a statement issued on Wednesday afternoon, Thames Valley Police Rural Crime Taskforce said: “PC Moule attended the Hungerford area following a report by a local land owner that a number of power tools and large quantity of alcoholic drinks were abandoned on their property.
"It transpired that these had been stolen in a burglary from a nearby village.

"All the items, some £1,500 worth, have been returned to their owners.
“There has been a series of burglaries across Wantage, Faringdon, and Clanfield; with power tools, chippers, and ATVs stolen. Please ensure any security devices you have are working and you have a record of serial numbers for us to ID any found items.
“PC Kamalee and PC Uren stopped a vehicle near Shrivenham due to not having a number plate on their trailer. Checks on the vehicle showed that it was not insured. The driver was reported and the vehicle has been seized.”
