A man who was found operating a Class A county line from Didcot into Swindon has been jailed for four years.

Irfan Mascuud, 20, of Haswell Crescent in Slough, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday, November 6, for supplying crack cocaine and heroin from Didcot to Swindon via a county line.

County lines is the name given to drug dealing where organised criminal groups (OCGs) use phone lines to move and supply drugs, usually from cities into smaller towns and rural areas.

They exploit vulnerable people, including children, by recruiting them to distribute the drugs.

Mascuud was charged with two counts of supplying crack cocaine and heroin, but he first disputed the charges and demanded a trial.

The man later pleaded guilty in an attempt to reduce his sentence.

According to Wiltshire Police, the street value of the drugs he supplied between December 2023 and March 2024 was £30,690.

Mascuud has now been sentenced to four years imprisonment on both counts.

"By taking the case to trial at the public’s expense, Mascuud has shown a lack of respect for the judicial system and any acknowledgement for the seriousness of his actions," said a spokesman for Wiltshire Police.

He added: “County line drug dealing has a huge impact on our communities, and those most vulnerable will often be the targets of such criminality,"

"Mascuud had a propensity for targeting drug users and use their homes to facilitate drug supply.

"It is good that he is finally seeing the consequences of his actions."
