An Oxfordshire town came together over the weekend to dress up, listen to music and celebrate.
Alfred Fest was held on Saturday, October 26 in the West End of the Market Place in Wantage.
The day started with performances by the popular Wantage Silver Band. This was followed by a mass by Wantage Parish Church.

In the afternoon, volunteers came together to help children make stick figures of King Aldred.
There were crafts hosted by the Vale and Downland Museum, Alfred's Trail, Alfred cakes, Alfred mead, Aldred beer, hot pork rolls and market stalls.
