Six household waste recycling centres will be temporarily closed at times in September and October.
For safety reasons, Oxfordshire County Council will be shutting the centres for two days each, but only one centre will be shut at any time.
Stanford in the Vale, near Faringdon, will be closed on September 2 and 3, Ardley, near Bicester, will be closed on September 5 and 6, and Drayton, near Abingdon, will be shut on September 9 and 10.
Oakley Wood, near Wallingford, will be out of action on September 12 and 13, Dix Pit, in Stanton Harcourt, on September 23 and 24, and Alkerton, near Banbury, on October 7 and 8.
All closures are scheduled for quieter weekdays to minimise disruption and sites will reopen at 8am the following day.
The closures are taking place to allow for deep cleaning and maintenance work to be carried out.
This includes jet washing the sites and structures, repainting lines and safety areas, and other general work to improve the customer experience.
Residents are asked to plan their visits accordingly, holding onto waste when possible or visiting an alternative site.
There will also be a deep clean at Redbridge, in Oxford, later in the year.
Residents are reminded to use their free DIY waste allowance, they need to book an appointment for their visit on the council’s website.
