A PROFESSOR has died after contracting covid-19 in hospital.
Professor John Knight, who was an economics and statistics professor, was admitted to John Radcliffe Hospital on January 14 following a fall.
Three days later, the 85-year-old died following a deterioration in his health after contracting covid-19.

An inquest opening at Oxford Coroner’s Court on Wednesday (January 25), heard that a medical cause of death has been given as covid-19, intracranial haemorrhage, and cancer.
Senior coroner Darren Salter has listed a date for a full inquest to take place on January 29 at 12.15pm.
Professor Knight, who resided at The Leys, Witney, was from South Africa. He was a widowed man, his wife Janet was a mental health advocate.
