A man has been jailed for almost four years for two burglaries in South Oxfordshire.

Damion Hall, aged 40, of Church View, Berinsfield, received the prison sentence for two burglaries that took place last year.

In April, Hall smashed a window of a property in Drayton St Leonard, near Wallingford, gaining entry to the house and stealing property including jewellery and tools.

He committed a second burglary in Grove, near Wantage, in July.

Again he smashed a window to gain entry and stole a drone and a laptop computer.

Despite being disqualified from driving and having no insurance, he drove away from the offence on a motorbike.

Hall was arrested on July 11 last year and was charged the same day.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and a count each of driving while disqualified and driving without insurance in a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Monday (January 8).

Hall was sentenced to a total of three years and nine months’ imprisonment at the same hearing.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Fiona Boyce, of the Priority Crime Team said: “Damion Hall chose to commit these invasive offences and was identified through CCTV footage obtained from the scene of both of the burglaries.

“We know the untold harm that burglary causes in our communities. We will always pursue those who seek to commit such offences and bring them to justice.

“Hall will now serve a substantial prison sentence as a result of his offending, and I hope that his victims can put their ordeal behind them in the knowledge that he has been brought to justice.”
