A man has been jailed for a burglary in Witney following a Thames Valley Police investigation.
Darnel McKail, 26, of Birmingham Road, West Bromwich, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty by a jury to one count of burglary of a home and theft following a three-day trial at Oxford Crown Court last Thursday (November 23).
On August 18 last year, McKail stole a gun from a property on Moor Avenue.
He was arrested the same day and charged the following day.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Steve Bates, of the Priority Crime Team based at Witney Police Station, said: “I am happy to see Darnel McKail convicted of this offence after stealing from an elderly member of the local community.
“A quick response from officers saw McKail arrested a short time after the offence.
“Thames Valley Police is committed to bringing burglars to justice as it is an incredibly invasive crime and will not be tolerated.”
