Roadworks on the southbound carriageway of the A34 between Marcham and Hinksey began today.
The work will require the closure of the southbound carriageway during the night - from 10pm until 6am - until Friday, July 18.
Diversion routes will be in place until then, taking motorists via the A420 and A415.
The closure is necessary while the Highways Agency carries out resurfacing and maintenance work to the road.
