An Oxfordshire school has begun using blockchain technology to help reduce paper usage.
Blockchain technology is a way of recording and sharing data as the school start using it for their management system with pupils.
Our Lady’s Abingdon has partnered with Vizidox Solutions to become one of the first schools in the UK to use this technology.
A spokesperson said: "Blockchain technology provides a secure and tamper-proof way of recording and sharing data.
"By implementing Blockchain, Our Lady's Abingdon will be able to streamline their records management system, making it more efficient, sustainable, and secure."
Students will have access to their records over the Blockchain, allowing them to access their credentials forever.
A spokesperson added: "By implementing Blockchain technology, Our Lady's Abingdon is taking a bold step towards embracing innovation in education.
"The school is committed to providing its students with the best possible education and the use of Blockchain technology will enhance the school's records management system, providing a more efficient, secure, and sustainable solution."
