FIRE crews were called out to a new housing development in Didcot to help a site worker who had fallen a metre underground.
The incident happened at about 10.25am yesterday (January 5) at Nobel Park development site.
Crew from Didcot Fire Station and Abingdon Fire Station were called to a report of a man who had fallen into a trench and was injured.

On arrival, crews found a 47-year-oldapproximately a metre below ground with suspected back injuries.
Crews from South Central Ambulance Service stabilised the casualty and administered intravenous pain relief.
The man was recovered from the ground by fire service personnel and into the care of the waiting ambulance team. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
