THE residents of Barchester’s Waterside Court care home were ‘thrilled’ to meet the Mayor of Wallingford before Christmas.
Councillor Marcus Harris and his wife Lucy visited the care home in Winterbrook and sat with residents and chatted over afternoon tea and homemade cake.
General Manager Clemence Heriman said: “It was lovely to have Mayor Marcus and Lucy join us at such a special time of year.

“Christmas brings back so many memories for our residents and to have the opportunity to talk to them both about Christmases past and their hopes for the New Year was a magical treat.
“We all had a wonderful time listening to Marcus recalling funny stories of his father playing Scrooge.”
