Pictures taken by a thermal imaging camera have revealed the extensive heat loss from homes in the county.

The images were snapped by a drone operated by Cosy Thame over a two-night period across Thame.

The drone was flown over the market town on November 8 and 9 and captured how much heat is being lost in average family homes.

Mr Dawson explained to the BBC: “The warmer the colour - reds, oranges, yellows and going towards whites - the more it leaks. The cooler the colour, blues and greens, the less heat is being lost.”

He added newer homes did not have problems as they conformed to building regulations but older properties - especially thatched houses - "leaked like sieves".

"Be prepared to wear lots of jumpers if you live in a thatch," he said.

Cosy Thame is an initiative which is part Thame Green Living in partnership with the local Citizens Advice and town council.
