OXFORD-based theatre companies have founded a new Early Years Arts Festival to be held at the end of the month.

Wild Boor Ideas and Tiny Light Theatre created the three-day event with supported from Arts Council England and Oxford City Council

There be events for newborns to six-year-olds and their families at partner venues The Story Museum, The North Wall, Pegasus Theatre, The Museum of Natural History and the Ultimate Picture Palace.

It will run from September 30 to October 2 and aims to “celebrate the creativity that young children bring to the world”.

It will also include free digital and audio resources.

Emma Boor, of Wild Boor Ideas, said: “It’s a festival that celebrates and nurtures Tiny Ideas from tiny people.

“They are the experts in creativity and we have a lot to learn from them as well as the other way round.”

Ceri Ashcroft, of Tiny Light, said: “Both of our companies love creating theatre for the very young, and Tiny Ideas Festival will highlight the importance -  especially after lockdown - of what theatre can bring to children in terms of developing vocabulary, imagination and exploring emotions.”

Events include will include author talks from Teresa Heapy, a variety of shows, an “animal boogie” session, a map of the city for people to collect stickers at each venue and much more.
