AN open day is being held at a fire station in Abingdon this weekend for this first time since the coronavirus pandemic.

The fire station, in Ock Street, is hosting the open day on Saturday (23) from 10am to 4pm.

On Facebook, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said the event will include demonstrations, cakes, a BBQ, a penalty shootout game, ice creams, a range of emergency vehicles, a bouncy castle, and more.

Families are being urged to visit the station and meet your local fire crews who will be able to answer any questions people have about the service and volunteeting.

The station haven't held an open day since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 so the crews will “really pleased” to see guests.
