FESTIVAL goers are “fuming” after an Oxfordshire rock music event announced gazebos are banned from the campsite despite the heatwave.
Truck Festival, which is taking place this weekend at Hill Farm, Steventon, near Didcot, reminded people yesterday (18) that gazebos are a “prohibited item as they take up valuable tent space in campsites”.
The event also said the gazebos, which are often left behind, cause a lot of campsite waste year-on-year and the festival wants to reduce that.
However, attendees of the event are concerned after temperatures across the county have reached highs of 37°C.

One festival goer, who would prefer to stay anonymous, said: “I totally understand that they want people to be safe but it’s supposed to be and always has been a village festival.
“They are completely changing the rules three days before the event when people have already bought everything – they are banning gazebos when we’re in the middle of a field with no shade?
“They’ve also said you can only bring in a 500ml reusable water bottle.”

Truck Festival has reassured attendees there will be "increased shaded areas on-site".
Along with the gazebos, other items that are prohibited are drugs, illegal substances, laugh gas, knives or weapons, glass, fireworks, and disposable BBQ’s.
