A BANK branch in Wantage will be closing in October this year as only 22 customers use it.
Barclays, in Market Place, is due to be close permanently on Wednesday, October 5 at 12pm.
The announcement was made today (01) and bank employees reportedly only found out when the post was made available to the general public.

In a statement released about the closure, Barclays said: “The number of counter transactions has gone down in the previous 24 months, and additionally 89 per cent of our branch customers also use other ways to do their banking such as online and by telephone.
“Customers using other ways to do their banking has increased by 12 per cent since 2016. In the past 12 months, 15per cent of this branch's customers have been using nearby branches.
“We’ve identified that only 22 customers use this branch exclusively for their banking.”
