VIOLENCE and sexual offences are the most reported crimes in Wallingford as well as anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, theft, and public orders.
Data from Police UK, the national website for policing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, revealed that 517 of the 1,557 crimes reported in the last 12 months were for violence and sexual offences.
A total of 1,479 of the 4,531 crimes reported in the last three years were also for violence and sexual offences.

Data from the last month shows that almost half of the reported crimes were of the same offence with 35 out of 131.
The second most reported crime in the last three years is anti-social behaviour, which includes “personal, environmental and nuisance anti-social behaviour”, with 545 reports out of 4,531.
In the last year, there has been 206 reports out of 1,557 crimes coming third to public orders, which is an offence that “causes fear, alarm or distress”, that has 207 reports.
Nineteen reports of anti-social behaviour have been reported in the last month out of 131. The second most reported crime in the last month is theft with 24 incidents.
The third most reported crime in the last three years is criminal damage and arson with 505 out of 1,557.

However it was only reported 132 in the last year and nine times in the last month.
The fourth most reported crime in the last three years is theft with 408 cases out of 4,531.
In the last month there has also been 11 reports of vehicle crime, five reports of burglary, three reports of shoplifting, three reports of drugs, two reports of bicycle theft, one report of other crime and one report of robbery.
Statistic for the last year are 116 reports of vehicle crime, 88 reports of burglary, 42 reports of drugs, 37 reports of shoplifting, 18 reports of theft from the person, 18 reports of bicycle theft, 16 reports of other crimes, eight reports of possession of weapons and four reports of robbery.
Out of 1,557 of the crimes reported in the last year, 488 have had no suspect identified, 400 have been “unable to prosecute” and 154 are still under investigation.
Eight offenders were given a fine while 12 offenders were given a caution. A total of 26 are awaiting a court outcome and 135 have no available status update.

Over the last year, reports of crime in Wallingford ranges from 96 to 170 per month compared with Didcot which ranges from about 160 reports a month to about 270. Abingdon has the most monthly reports with a range from 180 to 290.
