An Easter open day filled with music and eco-friendly activities gave people that chance to have a sneak peek around the new housing development Church Farm in Radley.
Developer Pye Homes hosted the open day which included an Easter Egg hunt and a bug house decorating workshop. Local author Teresa Heapy provided readings of her story ‘The Wonder Tree’ along with a selection of other books in the living room of a new show home.
Abingdon Music Centre’s Singing for Pleasure group, a choir comprised of mainly members over the age of 60 provided the music for the day and Wells Farm Shop provided visitors with hedgehog and badger cupcakes.

Children who attended the event were gifted a tree sapling from the Blenheim Estate for them to take home and plant.
Graham Flint, Managing Director of Pye Homes, said: “It was brilliant to be able to welcome so many people of different generations to our event on Saturday.
“We are committed to creating a real sense of community within our developments so to see people interacting with each other and enjoying the event means we’re on the right track.”

The homes will not use fossil fuel boilers, moving instead to more environmentally friendly heating solutions with solar panels and air source heat pumps.
A new cycle link between Radley and Oxford via Kennington will also be part of the development.
