A POSTMASTER in Wallingford is due to be replaced to prevent the office being closed permanently.
The post office in St Martin’s Street is temporarily closed due to “unforeseen circumstances” but only on a short-term basis and is due to reopen soon.

A new postmaster will be taking over the role in July following concerns that the town would lose it’s only post office.
A spokeswoman for Post Office said: “Wallingford Post Office is short-term temporarily closed and it should re-open soon.
“The current Postmaster has resigned and is due to leave in July. The vacancy has been advertised and we have a successful applicant.”

The company declined to comment on why the post office was temporarily closed and were unable to provide a specific date for its reopening.
