A fan of The Wanted has paid tribute to bandmember Tom Parker, after he died from an inoperable brain tumour today.

The star, originally from Bolton, died on Wednesday at lunchtime surrounded by his family and bandmates, a statement released by the boyband said.

The statement described him as “amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi” as well as a “brother” to his bandmates.

The band rose to fame in 2010 when their debut album, The Wanted, peaked at number four in the charts. The album resulted in three top 20 hits with All Time Low, Heart Vacancy and Lose My Mind.

Parker revealed in October 2020 that he had been diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma and had begun radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

In spite of his diagnosis, her performed with his bandmates on their delayed reunion tour.

A fan of the band from the county saw the group on their reunion tour at the Utilita Arena Birmingham has paid tribute to the star.

Rosie Dodds, who is from West Oxfordshire, said: “Tom epitomised strength and bravery when he came on stage in a wheelchair to sing in front of thousands of people for the encore.”

The 35-year old who works at Midcounties Cooperative added: “I’ve been a fan of The Wanted since their first song was released.

“Such sad news. RIP Tom Parker.”
