Five Primary schools have issued emergency closures today due to staff absences and Covid infection rates.
The schools announced the part closure to pupils and parents on the Oxfordshire County Council website.

These are the schools that are closed and why:
- Marcham Church of England Primary School. Due to staff sickness the Year 1 class is closed until March 16.
- Stephen Freeman Community Primary School. Is closed today due to high levels of staff illness. The school has said this week it has its Poland reception class closed with remote learning in place. Today the UK reception class will also be closed with remote learning in place.
- Barley Hill Primary School is set to be partly closed until Thursday March 17, due to staff sickness. Year 4 Giraffe class will be moving to remote learning today and tomorrow, and Year 2 hedgehog class will have remote learning until Thursday.
- Mabel Prichard School is partly closed today due to staff shortages. The Blue Class will be closed today.
- Watchfield Primary School is also part open today due to staff sickness. Both reception classes are closed until tomorrow.
