While Cholsey Day Centre President, Eve Evans, managed the cooker, staff were able to keep the tea trollies stocked for residents.
Maraya Rabuka, general Manager at Waterside Court said: “It was so nice to see the community come together to support our home without a second thought. They were so quick to come up with solutions to help support our residents remained warm and comfortable during the outage.
"A cup of tea or coffee is so important to our residents. For our residents living with dementia, instances like power cuts can be quite disorientating and confusing, so it really meant a lot to everyone that we could retain some normality during the storm’s effects”.
Berti, one of the care home's first residents, said: “I love my cups of tea and coffee. After supper, I always like my coffee.”
