A THREE-STAR guesthouse near Wantage has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
Mather house retreat, a guesthouse and restaurant at Mather House, White Road, East Hendred, Wantage was given the score after assessment on January 6, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
The bed and breakfast received an unannounced visit from the council.

It scored a rating of 'good' for its hygiene and safety and also for its cleanliness and layout.
Mather house retreat was given a mark of 'Generally satisfactory' by inspectors for the performance of its management.
It means that of the Vale of White Horse's 167 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 115 have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
