HEALY Desmond Of Didcot Oxfordshire died suddenly at home on 21st February aged 74. Devoted husband to Margaret for 53 years, father of Denise and Desmond Jnr and his daughter in law Janine. Proud Grandfather of Steven, Lauren, Thomas and Jack and much loved brother and uncle. Requiem mass at English Martyrs Catholic Church Didcot at 10-30am on Saturday 12th March 2022. A well known and popular character who worked tirelessly on various causes, benefitting people in the local community and beyond over many years. Des was the Union Convenor at Didcot Power Station for nearly 25 years, an elected pension trustee and he served the people of Didcot diligently as a dedicated Labour councillor over various terms. He was very proud to serve as the town mayor in 2016. A devout Catholic, proud Glaswegian and passionate (and excitable) Celtic supporter Des was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. They never die who live in the hearts they leave behind
