READ Peter David Of Didcot Died on 20 April 2019, aged 79 after suffering a long illness. Peter was a past Councillor and Mayor of Didcot (2012-13), dearly loved and much missed by his wife Margaret, son Simon, daughter Claire, son-in-law Phil, and granddaughter Samantha. Peter was well travelled and employed throughout his life in science and astronomy, most recently at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and previously at the Royal Greenwich Observatory at Herstmonceux and Sutherland Observatory in South Africa. Peter was also an enthusiastic supporter of and campaigner for the Alzheimer's charity and the Restore charity, both based in Didcot. Family, friends and past colleagues are invited to attend a gathering in celebration of Peter's life at Didcot Civic Hall, Britwell Road OX11 7JN on Saturday 11 May from 13:00.
