It's coming up to the time of year when the weather allows for more fun activities. So I thought I would give you a rundown of the best events set to take place in Wantage going into May!
The Life & Times of Mr Edward Davey of Wantage Talk

This will be a talk discussing the legendary Victorian polymath Edward Davey and will involve viewing artefacts from the museum's Davey collection. However, it must be noted that this event is adults only. The tickets are £7.50 per person and are available for purchase via the museum's website.
Capturing Light Exhibition
Vale & Downland Museum
Throughout May
This exhibition will be hosting works from artists Jill Smith and Patsy Jones, who are known for their paintings and linocuts of Oxfordshire landscapes. 'Meet the Artists' sessions will be held on the 10th, 12th and 13th. Entry to the museum's exhibitions is completely free.
King Charles' Coronation
Wantage Market Place
6th May 10:00am-6:00pm
Wantage Town Council is holding this event to commemorate the momentous occasion. A large screen will be set up to show the coronation throughout the day. Not only that, there will be food and drink outlets, as well as rides and activities for children. So overall, a perfect family day out!
Guys & Dolls Musical
The Beacon
11th-13th May 7:30pm
Jigsaw Stage Productions is presenting the popular musical Guys & Dolls at The Beacon. Tickets cost £15 and are available to purchase from The Beacon website. A fun night out to the theatre without a huge price tag.
Matt Richardson's Laughing Ox
The Beacon
27th May 8:00pm
Award-winning comedian Matt Richardson will be hosting a comedy club consisting of Chris McCausland, Sara Barron and Zoe Lyons. Tickets cost £18 and are available for purchase from The Beacon website. It's set to be a night full of laughs.
And that wraps up my list of things to do this month in Wantage.
