Environment Agency - Culham Lock layby Bank Protection Works

ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENT STATEMENT (Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) regulations 1999 as amended by
SI 2005/1399 and SI 2006/618

Culham Lock Tail layby Bank Protection Works

The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the River control Structures/Weir on the River Thames at Culham Lock (NGR SU 50944 94911) for a distance of less than 20 metres. The proposed improvement works will involve the following: The installation of Soft Engineering bank protection works to an eroded river bank section downstream of Culham Lock. The works are required to prevent further erosion of the river bank, damage to the Thames path, and the undermining of the tail layby.

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intent to prepare an environment statement in respect of them. Health and Safety Method statements and Installation plans can be obtained from the Environment Agency Operations Delivery Offices at Osney Yard, Bridge Street, Osney, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX2 0AZ.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvements works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
