Announcements

1. Each year the council's accounts are audited, anyone interested has the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the accounts and books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them.

For the year ended 31 March 2013 these documents will be available on application to the strategic director and chief finance officer, South Oxfordshire District Council, Benson Lane, Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford, OX10 8HQ, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm (Monday to Friday) for the period commencing on Monday 22 July 2013 and ending Friday 16 August 2013 inclusive.

2. Local government electors and their representatives also have

(i) the opportunity to question the auditor about the accounts. The auditor will be at the Council Offices, Benson Lane, Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford, OX10 8HQ for  his purpose on Thursday 22 August 2013 at 10.00 am, and after that date at the 'Ernst & Young LLP UK' office at Apex Plaza, Forbury Road, Reading, RG1 1YE, until the audit has been concluded. Persons wishing to question the auditor on that day should inform the auditor in writing by Friday 16 August 2013.

(ii) the right to attend before the auditor and make objections to the accounts, or any items in them. Written notice of a proposed objection, stating the grounds, the facts relied on and particulars of the action it is proposed the auditor should take must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the Council.

3. The audit is being carried out by Maria Grindley, Audit Director, 'Ernst & Young LLP UK' office at Apex Plaza, Forbury Road, Reading, RG1 1YE, and will be conducted under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972, the Audit Commission Act 1998 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2003 (as amended 2006).
