Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Main Road, East Hagbourne - Prohibition of Through Traffic

This Order is being introduced because of telecommunication works in part of Main Road which is anticipated to take two consecutive Sundays, 24 & 31 July to complete. The effect of the Order is to remporarily prohibit any vehicle from proceeding, from 08.30 hrs to 16.30 hrs, in that part of Main Road from its junction with the B4016 to its junction with Harwood Road. Exemptions are included for police, fire and ambulance services and for the works and for vehicular access to adjacent premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is via Upton, A417 and B4016 & vice versa. For the duration of the closures the Oxfordshire County Council (West Hagbourne) ( Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles Over 3 Tons) Order 1979 as amended by the Oxfordshire County Council (Metrication of Weight Restrictions) Order 1992, which restricts the goods vehicle weight limit to 7.5 tonnes between the A417 and West Hagbourne, will be suspended. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months or until the woeks have been completed whichever is the sooner.
