ABINGDON AC have secured promotion for a fourth successive year in the Midland League.
Fourth place in the final round at Stoke was enough to help them finish second in Division 2 and earn their place in the top tier for next year.
It has been a remarkable rise for Abingdon, who were in Division 7 in 2010.
A number of athletes have contributed to the success, while club records were broken in Stoke by Noel Blatchford (V70 hammer), Pete Stepney (V55 400m hurdles) and Calum Steer (U20 3000m).
Meanwhile, Abingdon’s Paul Fernandez returned to form at the Hooky 6, finishing second.
