Drivers are asked to find altarnative routes as High Street, in Wallingford town centre, is closed due to an incident.
Firefighters were called to a small fire caused by an underground electric cable outside antiques shop The Lamb Arcade, at midday.
Traffic is disrupted and diverted around the area outside the junction of High street and Goldsmiths Lane.
The road has been closed to keep the public safe from live electricity.
It could take up to two hours to reopen, as emergency services are waiting for for an electrical suplier to isolate the cable.
